To The Ends Of The Earth

Experiencing God through His Word

Throughout the past 3 months, we have had the amazing opportunity to walk alongside our 6 DTS students as they dig deeper into their faith and God’s Word. Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a 6-month intensive missions experience that teaches students who God is, who they are in God, and how to live effectively for Him. Many of these moments and teachings have reminded us of our own DTS experience 3 years ago. However, there have also been so many new moments of revelation and learning that we could not be more excited about. A highlight has definitely been getting to witness first-hand the effect of the Bible on someone’s life. Watching our students step out in new levels of faith and boldness has been both inspiring and humbling. Every aspect of these transformations is so evidently sourced from the Word of God.

“Something God has been speaking to me during DTS is the relational aspect of His character. God created us for relationship with Him. I think we tend to want God to reveal every detail of our calling to us when often God cares less about what we do than who we do it for. He desires our actions and choices to come out of relationship with Him. I find it amazing that God, who is all powerful, doesn’t just want to tell us what to do, but desires an intimate relationship with us, simply because we are His beloved children.” -Tiana, DTS Student

Ending Bible Poverty Now

Along with our DTS students, we too have grown in greater love for the good news found in God’s Word. However, with this, our hearts break even more at the fact that there are millions around the world who have yet to experience it. YWAM’s founder Loren Cunningham shares this heartbreak and has started a movement known as End Bible Poverty Now. Bible poverty is when someone doesn’t have or has never been offered a personal Bible in their heart language. The ultimate goal of ending this Bible poverty is to finish translating the complete Bible into every language, and gifting Bibles to every single person on earth.

As lovers of Jesus, we are called to GO and reach the unreached with the love of God. This woman in Nepal received her first Bible in her heart language: A person’s most effective language for communicating deeply and learning new concepts. Usually their first language and considered the most important form of communication. (Source: endbiblepovertynow.com)

This sounds tough. It is no mystery that Bible poverty exists in the most isolated and the most congregated places of earth from the first world to the third world. But, throughout our Christian walk, we have found that when God stirs a desire within our hearts, He also provides open doors of opportunity to pursue it.

Christians are God’s hands and feet. It brings Him so much joy when He is able to partner with His people to accomplish His dreams. We believe that ending Bible poverty is an achievable goal of God’s. And one that He is inviting thousands of Christians to participate in.

To the Ends of the Earth: MONGOLIA

Recently, we were invited to participate in this movement in one of the most isolated places on earth. Where 98% of the population remains unreached by the Gospel and one third live nomadically; Mongolia. Then it all suddenly clicked. A passion stirring within our hearts was God preparing us to be a part of its solution.

While praying over this opportunity, we felt God highlight passages from Ezra and Nehemiah that depict the Word of God being shared with people for the first time and the foundation of the Lord’s temple being laid during the seventh month of the year. This confirmed to us that God was calling us to bring His word to Mongolia in July!

In just a few weeks we will be travelling with a YWAM team of 11 to the mysterious nation of Mongolia to assist in the strategic yet relational distribution of Bibles in the heart language of all who want them. For many in Mongolia, this will be the very first time they will have ever heard the Gospel. It’s a humbling thought that we can be God’s hands and feet in growing the foundations of Christianity within this nation that He so dearly loves.

Youth With a Mission has been discipling the nation of Mongolia ever since it became an open country in 1990. This summer YWAM teams from around the world are flooding the country with Bibles.

There and Back Again

We believe our role within this cause is meant for much longer than a two-week trip, and we realize that Bible poverty not only exists in unreached countries like Mongolia but, also much closer to home. It is our desire to go and participate in Ending Bible Poverty, then return to Australia equipped to repeat it.

We are so thankful for the many opportunities we have to serve and disciple the city of Adelaide. But we believe that gifting every citizen a bible in their heart language is a key element in seeing sustained revival in our communities. It has been so exciting to see transformations occur in our DTS students over the past months as they have been submerged in the Word Of God, and we are eager to witness a similar impact of the Bible on the people of Mongolia and our local community of Adelaide!

Currently, there are 4 indigenous languages that the Bible has not been translated into in South Australia. There are also thousands of immigrants and refugees arriving here straight from closed countries where the Bible has been banned. Even many raised in a western setting have yet to hear the Gospel or receive a Bible personally.

Let’s End Bible Poverty Together

There are still millions of people in our world who go through their entire lives without ever having a chance to read a book. A book filled with the Truth that changes everything. A book we often take for granted our access to. Ending bible poverty is an important issue that requires a response from the whole church. For us, that response begins with bringing Bibles to Mongolia. How is God calling you to respond?

We would like to extend this invitation to you: to join us in blessing Mongolia through your finances and prayers. The total cost of this trip is $4900. We are trusting God to take us where He has called us. And we know He does that through our partnership with you. Thank you for your generosity and prayers that have been empowering us to be in missions to this day. Our prayer today is that God would use our partnership to fulfill His Great Commission and reveal His love to us, to the people of Mongolia, and Adelaide in new and powerful ways.
